If you have children with you - young children especially - you won’t want to miss the fabulous Easter Egg Roll happening on March 31st this year at 10:30AM in Soundside Park. There will even by live rabbits and an Easter Bunny you can get your picture taken with! (This event is for children 10 and under to participate in.)
2). Poplar Grove’s Farmers Market
The Poplar Grove’s Farmers Market is a treat for locals and foodie vacationers alike! This incredible market is hosted on the Poplar Grove’s expansive period plantation and it features only local produce and locally made handmade goods. Think, the freshest of spring's produce from local farmers. Tantalizing cookies and loaves of crusty bread from the talented baker down the street (who you never would have discovered otherwise!). And beautifully handmade jewelry made by a talented local artisan.
3). Cape Fear BBQ Festival
Do you love BBQ? Food trucks? Live Music? Then you will adore the Cape Fear BBQ Festival! On May 12th this year the Cape Fear Wildlife Foundation will be hosting a BBQ Pork Butt Cook-Off. There will be all kinds of delicious scents, as well as food to taste! Plus, there will be over 40 arts and crafts vendors for those who want to shop and explore some stunning locally crafted items (and find the perfect vacation keepsake among them!).
4). Cape Fear Beer and Wine Festival
Love beer and wine? Micro breweries and craft concoctions? Then you will love the Cape Fear Beer and Wine Festival! This incredible festival, held in Wilmington on March 10th this year, will feature over 50 American craft micro breweries and and wineries. These incredible craftsmen will have over 150 DIFFERENT brews and wines for you to try! Your ticket will give you access to unlimited sampling, live music, and more fun! 5). North Carolina Azalea Festival
The beauty, excitement, and joy of spring are all wrapped up in this stunning festival celebrating the return of spring in the form of one of the most colorful North Carolinian flowers. There will be garden tours, incredible concerts, art shows and sales, a parade, fireworks, and so much more!
