5 Father's Day Activities That Will Delight Dad This Year

5 Father's Day Activities That Will Delight Dad This Year

Father’s Day is just around the corner! It is one of the best days of the year - a day dedicated to showing our love to the fathers in our lives, kicking back and relaxing, and making special memories with our families that will last a lifetime. And what better place is there to treat dad and bond with family than beautiful Topsail?

Topsail and the surrounding area has so much to offer for any time of year, including for this special day that comes around only once every twelve months. To get your weekend off to a fabulous start, we have compiled a list of 5 delightful Father’s Day activities that are perfect whether you have small (or grown) children.

1). Start the Day Right with Breakfast Out

While Father’s Day is a special day to celebrate dads, that doesn’t mean that it has to be a day where mom is forced to work extra hard. Instead of putting the burden of making a huge breakfast on mom, why not just go out for breakfast! Sears Landing in Surf City is a great spot for breakfast. Their menu is a delicious mixture of down home Southern food influenced by coastal cuisine. The seafood is fresh, the atmosphere is friendly, and the view of the marsh land of the Intracoastal Waterway provides you with the opportunity to watch for unique wildlife while you enjoy your repast.

2). Treat Dad to a Round of Golf

There is no more traditional Father’s Day activity than indulging dad in a round of golf. And as always, Topsail doesn’t disappoint. North Shore Golf Course is located in Snead’s Ferry, just north of North Topsail Beach on the mainland. It is a fun course to play for both the expert golfer as well as the novice. If you are lucky, you might even sight an alligator in one of the course waterways!

3). Get in Some Play with Dad

If you have young children, then you know just how they can never get enough play time with dad. This Father’s Day indulge those precious packages of joy and take them to the Children’s Museum of Wilmington! The Children’s Museum is a delightful, compact place full of all kinds of hands on things for your child to enjoy, such as a pirate ship to explore and a "toddler treehouse.”

4). An Afternoon on the Water

When you are at the beach to celebrate Father’s Day, you absolutely have to spend time on the water! Especially when you are only a moment's walk away from the water. Walking to the beach, your toes curling in the soft, warm sand, is the simplest way to spend time in (or just near) the ocean. If you are feeling more adventurous, then check out Topsail Boat Rental, where you can rent a family friendly boat, or take a guided tour of the water just off the coast.

5). Indulge in Dinner out at Daddy Mac’s Beach Grill

No fun-filled day is complete without a delicious dinner! After being out all day, take a moment to stop before getting back to your beautiful home-away-from-home in Topsail. Daddy Mac’s Beach Grill is a great place to take dad to round off his Father’s Day celebrations. Situated on the edge of Surf City with a beautiful view of, you guessed it, the sun and surf of Topsail, this family-friendly restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor seating. With big portions of fresh and delicious coastal-influenced food, Daddy Mac’s is a delightful place to end your day.

As you take a walk along the beach at the end of this Father’s Day, your children running (or walking) around you, take a moment to appreciate all the blessings of family life. And thank the man in your life for all that he contributes to your family. May you have a fun filled Father’s Day this year, and may you make memories in Topsail that last a lifetime!
